The Signalling suite of services (STP and SCCP) provides highly reliable connectivity to more than 550 networks based upon the international Signalling Standard No.7 supporting international voice and data roaming agreements, on 2G and 3G GSM technologies:
-
STP Transit service provides access to the global signalling network through a single connection with direct routing and multiple backup routes, detailed reporting and advanced fraud detection systems in line with latest GSMA recommendations
-
Besides signalling connectivity, the SCCP Transit service includes all administrative tasks required to establish bilateral roaming relations such as the exchange of routing information within the Signalling community and the management of a worldwide numbering plan
The Belgacom ICS' Signalling Services offer mobile operators two kinds of functionalities: International Roaming and Messaging Services.
For both functionalities, mobile operators send signalling messages routed on Mobile Global Title level (SCCP Transit Service) or International Signalling Point Code (STP Transit Service).
Types of messages, which are covered by the Signalling Service, are amongst others:
Belgacom ICS’ Signalling Services connects mobile networks to Roaming Partners using the ANSI signalling standard through conversion services offered within a single commercial agreement.
The service is supporting the latest SIGTRAN protocol suites for conveying signalling over IP connections. This option is allowing the exchange of signalling traffic over secured IP networks towards any ITU and ANSI destination via the Belgacom ICS infrastructure. This new technology brings additional benefits such as:
-
Extensive bandwidth support
-
Open standards approved by IETF and 3GPP
-
Cost-effectiveness
-
Security with encryption capabilities
-
Built-in reliability mechanisms
This option is available for both SCCP and STP Transit services.
Belgacom ICS’ Signalling Services are fully integrated with Belgacom ICS' SMS Transit gateways for a quicker and seamless global coverage in addition to interstandard SMS delivery.
-
Five “9s” availability architecture based on clustered pairs of signalling switches in four separated geographical locations
-
Fully compliant with ITU-T White Book MTP/SCCP Recommendations (Q700 to Q708 & Q711 to Q716)
-
Enhanced control of signalling streams with origin and destination-based routing at MTP and SCCP level
-
Application based routing based on Calling Party Address, Called Party Address and SSN
-
Powerful filtering capabilities at MTP, SCCP, Calling Party Address, Called Party address and SSN
-
On-line reporting capabilities with detailed view on traffic per destination country and network
-
Persistent storage of all signalling traffic up to 10 days for troubleshooting and fraud investigation
-
Future-proof already supporting latest Signalling over IP technology (SIGTRAN M2PA, M3UA and SUA)
-
Extensive reach to more than 550 ITU & ANSI networks through a single interconnection
-
Increased performance and reliability through high-quality direct routing for 95% of the destinations
-
End-to-end service control on 170+ On-net destinations directly connected to Belgacom ICS' Signalling switches
-
