Built over a carrier grade IP/MPLS backbone with higher speed and increased reliability, Belgacom ICS' 3GRX Transit provides a 3G and 3.5G ready network infrastructure which is adhering to standards. Above, as a GSMA Associate Member, Belgacom ICS actively contributes to IREG 3GRX working party dealing with roaming and interworking issues. Additionally a better service control is ensured via online instant access to a wealth of information on service performance, real-time resource utilization and destination-based interoperator traffic measurements.

Furthermore the Belgacom ICS' GRX network is based on an IP/MPLS VPN (RFC4364) architecture, with the following distinct features :

Any-to-any connectivity. Belgacom ICS offers a fully flexible and scalable 3GRX service to the mobile operators. Therefore one of the basics is an any-to-any connectivity. Traffic is routed on the shortest path between any two routers on our network, keeping delays minimal
Global coverage. The standard Belgacom ICS' 3GRX service provides you with an access to the Belgacom ICS' GRX network and any (potential) roaming partners
Private IP backbone. Our private IP backbone is entirely under full and sole control of Belgacom ICS. This is a basic requirement to be able to offer the best possible quality and customer service
Dedicated GRX VPN. Each customer will get a dedicated access to the GRX VPN with any-to-any connectivity towards all his GPRS roaming partners. The GRX VPN is fully separated from the public IP networks (the Internet). Belgacom ICS uses IP/MPLS technology, providing the same level of security as traditional technologies (FR/ATM)

The Belgacom ICS' GRX network has points of presence in North America, Europe and Asia. It literally spans the globe with submarine cable connections from Europe through the Atlantic to America, further through the Pacific Ocean to Asia and closing the ring through the Gulf Region back to Europe.

Belgacom ICS connects to the peering points in Amsterdam and Singapore and will connect to the second peering point in Europe as soon as it is available.
