Ethernet Services are an evolution of the legacy leased capacity providing point-to-point services with dedicated bandwidth. They are delivered either on Belgacom ICS' international SDH or DWDM infrastructure depending on the circuit speed. Interfaces range from 10 Mbps Ethernet to 10 Gbps Ethernet. Higher granularity is also available. Various protection, diversity and redundancy schemes are possible depending on customer needs.

Ethernet Services are point-to-point connections with dedicated bandwidth. This service is realised by using Next Generation SDH and WDM technologies to transparently forward the data frames to the other side, independently of the protocol to be transported. It relies on Layer 1 packet aware technologies giving the flexibility to provide full or sub-rate (based on VC-n steps) bandwidth throughput. On customer demand, dedicated bandwidth can be reconfigured (increased or decreased) to better match the actual transfer needs on a ‘hit-less’ fashion. Interface rates go from 10 Mbps Ethernet to 10 Gbps Ethernet. Various protection and redundancy schemes are possible depending on the particular customer needs.
On customer demand and thanks to the protocol transparency of these technologies, Storage Area Network (SAN) point to point services such as FICON and FibreChannel can also be transparently (full rate) transported.
Ethernet can be provided between any 2 cities using local loops from partners when necessary. Various protection, diversity and redundancy schemes are possible depending on customer needs.
